Overview
Krishi Jagran, India’s largest agri-media network with a reach of over 50 million farmers monthly, proudly presents Mission 2047: MIONP, Bharat Ka Jaivik Jagaran is needed to make Profitable Transition for Jaivik Bharat (PTJB) a reality. This ambitious initiative envisions a fully organic, natural, and profitable farming ecosystem in India by 2047, aligning with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and India’s aspiration to become a global powerhouse for sustainable agriculture through achieving $1 Trillion export target by 2047.
Profitable easy transition to Organic/ Natural Farming is claimed by many but have not been adopted by the mainstream. A scientific and commercial framework for majority of the crops have not been used to validate the claims and demonstrations by many. The key aim of this workshop is to deliberate and create this framework with the help of the farmers, the scientific communities, the NGOs and the input providers and create a grand challenge for the community to come up and demonstrate profitable transition and validate the technologies, the products, and the protocols for at least top 20 commercial crops.
Focus Area
Enhancing Farm Yard Manure Quality & Efficiency
New technologies for improving FYM composting speed and quality, Effective bio-digestion of crop residue, Approaches for increasing organic matter content in soils to 5-7%
Restoring Soil Fertility
Restoring soil fertility through by achieving better gas exchange, water retention, biological diversity & population with increasing the organic matter content of soils to 5-7%.
Technologies for Maintaining and Improving Crop Yields
Crop management approaches for reducing chemical fertilizers, Alternate nutrition management approaches, Improving crop produce quality and shelf life
Reducing Water Consumption and Restoring Ground Water Table
New cropping systems with less water requirement, Water and heast stress management - New technologies and approaches, Improving soil infiltration for better ground water recharge
Efficient Crop Care Through Biological Pesticides & Natural Repellents
Advancement in biological pest management technologies, New generation bio-based weed control methods, Improving consistency and relaibility of bio-pesticides
Precision Farming & Digital Technology in Agriculture
Precision technologies for effective input management and improved yields, New developments in Agri-tech for effective pest and disease management, New development in precision mechanization - Drones/ Micro irrigation. Digital Agriculture including adoption of AI and ML based technology.
Capacity Building for Testing of Inputs and Outputs for Organic Product
To ensure all inputs in Organic farms are meeting quality standards, and produce of organic farming need to be tested by standard and accredited labs. These labs need to be established at multiple locations to build credibility and confidence.
Traditional Seed Improvement and Utilisation
Developing and promoting organic and desi seeds to create complete eco system for profitable organic farming. Desi seeds are found to be more resilient to adverse conditions.
